In this 3-week, 6-hour introductory level course, we’ll go through these items with a theoretical and experiential program:
Core Intentions:
- Deepen awareness of nervous system states and their impact on authenticity and presence
- Build capacity to stay present with ourselves and others
- Learning about the importance of ‘containment’
- Cultivate authenticity in communication through relational dynamics
- Explore some existential themes with mindfulness
- Grow sustainable practices for resilience and a grounded empowerment
Week 1: Foundations of Safety & Inner Knowing
Theme: Nervous System Awareness, Grounding, and the Seeds of Authenticity
Focus Areas:
- Understanding how regulation supports authenticity: Exploring the basic survival adaptations and how safety impacts our ability to be authentic
- Tuning into internal signals of truth and dissonance: Exploring “felt sense”.
Practices:
- Polyvagal-based grounding & orienting techniques
- Allowing authentic movement and somatic self-expression
- Meditation: “Mindfulness with a Hint of Body Awareness”
- Group reflection: “What does authenticity feel like?”
Week 2: Relating Authentically in the Group Field
Theme: Co-Regulation, Vulnerability & Showing Up As We Are
Focus Areas:
- Group dynamics through a nervous system lens
- Finding the courage to express truth with care
- How authenticity supports relational resilience and belonging
Practices:
- Dyadic sharing & reflective listening
- Somatic tracking in relationship
- Meditation: “Mindfulness with a Hint of Metta”
- Exploring our relationship to boundaries, choices in engagement, our voice, and sense of agency
Existential Themes:
- Navigating shame, visibility, and truth-telling
- What it means to belong while staying true to ourselves
Week 3: Embodied Authenticity & Sustainable Presence
Theme: Living Authentically with Mindfulness & Accessing Our Inner Compass with Clarity
Focus Areas:
- Building sustainable inner resources for authenticity
- Integrating nervous system awareness into daily life
- Learning getting know the “Being state” rather than only focusing on reaching the next threshold
- Leading a meaningful life from presence and an inner consent
Practices:
- Designing personal regulation practices for coming into alignment by tracking our self-organising biology
- Mindful & truthful expression circles: respecting what is in the here and now
- Meditation: “Mindfulness with a Hint of Celebration”
- Group sharing on personal growth edges & integration
Closing Integration:
- Ceremony to honor transformation and truth, respecting our becoming will require time
- Witnessing one another’s journey: How does it touch you?
- Journaling: “What does being real mean now?”
- Take-home practices for cultivating authenticity in everyday life
